Dozens of people marched from Biglerville High School to Main Street and back to demand accountability for what they say is decades of racially motivated abuse at Biglerville schools.
The protesters stopped at the 7/11 intersection, carrying signs that read stop the abuse and yelled out No justice, no peace, among other slogans.
The purpose of the rally was to raise awareness and share the stories of the students and alumni who have experienced racism at Biglerville schools, said Larock Hudson, one of the organizers of the rally. We felt as if though with the explosion of the social media pages and the response from the school district not willing to center the victims’ voices.. we thought to take a different approach, Hudson said.

Update on Monday: The Upper Adams School District is working with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission to address allegations of discrimination over decades at Biglerville High School, according to a news release.
Supt. Wesley Doll and commission staff have met, and the parties will work on a plan to address these issues head-on and start the healing process, executive director Chad Dion Lassiter said in the release. We encourage the students, faculty and community members to approach this difficult reality through a new lens, to try to see the humanity in your neighbors, and seek commonalities rather than differences, Lassiter said.
