AP to Get 14 New Medical Colleges Soon May 31, 2021, 11:37 IST AMARAVATI: To provide advanced medi-care and better healthcare services for future generations, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be laying the foundation stone for the establishment of 14 new medical colleges across the State here on Monday.  While 16 medical colleges are being set up in each Parliamentary constituency, the foundation stone has already been laid for the Pulivendula and Paderu medical colleges in YSR Kadapa and Srikakulam districts respectively. The foundation stone will be laid for the remaining 14 medical colleges on Monday. During the reign of late Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, four medical colleges were established across the state in 2008. AP Government Extends School Holidays Till June 30 May 31, 2021, 10:45 IST The spread of Covid-19 during the second wave is continuing in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has taken a key decision on Sunday in this context. They issued an order extending summer holidays for all public and private schools in the state. The government has announced that the holidays for schools will be extended again till June 30 without conducting any examination for the students due to the second wave of Coronavirus.  It seems that the next decision on extending holidays will be taken again after June 30 depending on the situation in the state at that time. Currently, the state is enforcing strict lockdown restrictions to contain the spread of the virus.
