The information helps the WUPHD identify who may spread the virus to others. Timely isolation and quarantine practices can be another benefit of the program. If a person does not respond to the text message or email, they may receive a phone call later from the health department staff.

The district’s active case tally reached 4,088 from 4,009 the previous day, according to the figures released by the U.P. Health Department for a 24-hour period. On the brighter side, 444 patients got discharged during the period, taking the total number of recoveries to 28,450, the fifth highest in the State, it showed. The death toll in Gautam Buddha Nagar rose to 129 and the mortality rate is 0.39%. The recovery rate of patients reached 87.09%, statistics showed.

The active cases in the district rose to 84 from 75 the previous day, according to the data released by the UP Health Department for a 24-hour period. But because of issues with fluctuating supply, Aspirus still has a full docket of vaccine appointments. “We are still working through our final lists of 65 plus patients and we’re trying to make sure those people get their appointments in,” Bessner said.
