On May 28, state Sen. Michael D. Brady, D-Brockton, announced he had secured $100,000 for improving pedestrian safety along the Route 139 corridor by investing in enhanced crosswalks, sidewalk improvements, flashing beacons and more.
These targeted investments are made in line with the recommendations made in a recent traffic survey, which sought to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians in the corridor.
“The safety of the stretch along Route 139 between Hanover and Rockland was identified as an area of concern,” said Brady. “I’m proud to have secured this funding in the Senate budget to make significant upgrades in the area to help the flow of traffic and increase safety for our residents.”
