University Organist Eric Plutz will perform the complete “The Leipzig Chorales” (also called “The Great Eighteen”) by Johann Sebastian Bach – reworkings of chorales from his last decade, when he was in Leipzig. Each piece has a hymn tune (or chorale) at its core, and the way Bach ‘dressed’ these is quite varied, one from the next. The result is some of the best organ composing he did, late in life, when he was at the height of his powers. All persons, including members of the broader community, are welcome to attend this event if they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 if over age 12. Face coverings must be worn at all times by everyone over age 2. Registration is required for contact tracing purposes.
