In only a handful of decades, T'soto (Caddo Lake) became the site of the first offshore drilling rigs in world history. And because of the massive oil boom, one of the largest the world had ever seen, Ananias got a new name in honor of the sudden influx of oil money. That's when Ananias, Louisiana was renamed Oil City.
