Nearly three-quarters of elected officials in San Diego County reported being threatened or harassed, according to a study released Monday from the University of San Diego's Violence, Inequality and Power Lab.
The poll by local academics found that 75% of area elected officials have received messages meant to intimidate. Female officeholders are targeted more often than their male counterparts.
