LuAnn Ackerson passed away on Sept. 21, 2023 surrounded by her husband, Dennis, and sister, Nancy, after a short battle with acute leukemia. LuAnn was born in Spring Grove, Mn., the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Ellingson. She graduated from the University of Mn. with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned a Master of Science degree from the School of Public Health with a specialty in Community Mental Health. She worked as a Fairview Deaconess Nursing Instructor in Minneapolis, as an Urgent Care/Emergency Nurse Therapist at Park Nicollet Clinic in St. Louis Park, Mn. and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud, Mn. retiring in 2016. For many Native American Veterans, and others, LuAnn was the chosen therapist. The impact on and help she gave to her patients is immeasurable and her greatest accomplishment. Lincoln Henry
John Lincoln “Link” Henry of Dover, and most recently a resident at Shorewood Sr. Campus in Rochester, passed July 26, 2021. Lincoln was born May 24, 1925, the youngest of five siblings to James and Carrie (Hamilton) Henry of Dover, Mn. Link attended the Dover school system and went to Agricultural school at the University of Mn. campus. In 1944 he began farming with his brother Burton (Bud) Henry. On June 9, 1945, Lincoln married Geraldine (Jerry) De Puy of Plainview Mn. and they were blessed with six children. Lincoln purchased a dairy farm in 1956 and continued to share farm equipment with his brother. He had one of the top dairy herds in Olmsted County. Link also raised hogs in a slated floor confinement building, one of the first in the area.
