As the first cars rolled into Kentucky s largest COVID-19 mass vaccination site Monday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that once 2.5 million people get at least the first shot, he will lift most restrictions, including capacity limits on bars and restaurants.
Calling it the Team Kentucky Vaccination challenge, Beshear said the state needs about 950,000 more people to get the vaccine with about 1.5 million already having received at least the first dose. We need all Kentuckians of all ages to be doing it, Beshear said, speaking at the opening of a 28-lane, drive through vaccine center at University of Louisville s Cardinal Stadium that can handle 4,000 people a day. We have to continue and even accelerate our pace of vaccinations.
