The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will honor eight special people at the Chancellor s Scholarship Gala during Founders Week. The gala will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
Morril Harriman, Sheffield Nelson and Kelly Eichler, all of Little Rock, have been announced as the next chairman, vice chairman and secretary, respectively, of the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees.
Arkansas fares worse than the national average in terms of maternal mortality and morbidity, but the state has made positive strides in recent years, and there are several areas where more improvements could be realized, said Dr. Nirvana Manning, chair and associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
