The federal holiday of Indigenous Peoples Day was honored and celebrated across the United States on Monday. At the University, members of the community celebrated the occasion at an event hosted by the Spurlock Museum of World Cultures. The White House recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day as a day of remembrance, honor and gratitude for Indigenous.

These aims and the rest of the plan will utilize UNLâs strengths and be a primary focus of 2021, Green said.
âThey are necessary work and distinct opportunities at UNL to have an even greater defining impact for Nebraska and our world,â he said.
The necessity for narrowing issues into grand challenges has been in discussion since 2016, Green said, and last year the Office of Research & Economic Development worked to finalize the themes. In total, he said nearly 500 faculty, staff and students worked to shape these themes.
âEven though this past year we have, by necessity, been looking at a convergence of crises, we have continued to move forward on N2025,â Green said.
