The Marble Falls High School theater program wrapped up its one-act play season with a silver-medal performance.
The troupe performed scenes from “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” in the University Interscholastic League’s Class 5A one-act play state contest April 30 at the Hartfield Performing Arts Center in Round Rock. The Marble Falls team was one of eight that advanced to the state meet. Four teams performed April 30 and the remaining ones on May 1.

Eagles To Compete For 4A Bi-District Championship The Hillsboro High School varsity baseball team will play in the University Interscholastic League Class 4A Region II bi-district championship series against North Dallas High School. Game one of the best-of-three game series is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Eagle Park in Hillsboro. Game two will be held at noon Saturday, May 8, at North Dallas. If necessary, game three will follow 30 minutes after game two in North Dallas. Coached by Ryan Cook, the Eagles earned the postseason appearance by claiming the fourth seed out of District 11-4A behind Waxahachie Life, Godley and Alvarado. Cook said that his team has seen some tough pitchers in district play and he feels the experience will benefit the Eagles in the post-season.
