TM Left Atrial Appendage Closure was implanted into patients in Austin, Texas, and Thousand Oaks, California. The surgeries were led by Dr. Andrea Natale and Dr. Saibal Kar in California and Dr. Rodney Horton in Texas. This was the first FDA-approved implantation device for reducing strokes in patients with non-ventricular atrial fibrillation.

US Chamber of Commerce endorses tougher plan to fight climate change
The Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday embraced tougher action to combat climate change through carbon taxes, emissions caps, or other âmarket-basedâ policies â the latest shift by the nationâs biggest business lobbying group as it pivots to a Washington dominated by Democrats. In an updated position statement being released Tuesday, the Chamber of Commerce says it supports âdurable climate policyâ that is made by Congress, including âa market-based approach to accelerate greenhouse gas emissions reductions across the US economy.â The group is also preparing to announce its support for using federal regulations to directly limit oil and gas industry emissions of methane, a potent greenhouse gas. â BLOOMBERG NEWS
