Children are learning today in the lack of respect for guns and the traditions of the outdoors. Mr. Chairman, i believe that this is one of the many benefits and reasons that we are here today to help restore the opportunity for hunting and fishing traditions to take root in our federal lands. To remind our federal land managers that the exercise of these traditions are not a burden on our land but one of the foundations of our land. Finally, let me say this, regard throfse ones view on our climate, this amendment is not about Climate Change. Its about granting the secretary a blank check to ban hunting and fishing. The ftc is committed to protecting Consumer Privacy and Data Security in the private sector. Since our first Data Security case in 2001, the ftc Data Security program has been a strong bipartisan effort that includes Law Enforcement to my education, and policy initiatives. Several lawsces that protect consumer data. Under the ftc act, the agency can take action against companies that engage in deceptive or unfair practices, including deceptive or unfair Data Security practices. The ftc also enforces several laws that require special protections of certain business sectors. The credit reporting industry, among Financial Institutions, and also among all mine services for our kids. In enforcing these laws and investigating potential Data Security failures, the Commission Recognizes that there is no such thing as perfect security and instead examines whether companies have undertaken reasonable procedures to protect consumer data from the risk of Identity Theft and other bits use. Closer to it, it became apparent, it is not like we wake up in the morning saying i want to get 1 7 of the people in the world to do something. A billion is not like magical number. Now, as we kind of approached that and passed it, now the focus for us is retooling and youre going to see us retooling the company in a lot of ways to go take on a lot of harder problems that will fulfill this mission. Connecting the next 5 billion people is going to be hard. Lot of them dont have internet access. People share and put billions of connections into this graph every day. We dont just want to add incrementally to that. We want over the next five to 10 years take on a road map to understand everything in the world smantically and map everything out. We want to play a role in helping people build companies and build jobs. Those are the big themes for us and what were going to try to do over the next five to 10 years.
