A 22-year-old man is pending extradition to Delaware after being arrested in Brooklyn for an early April murder in Dover.
Riley Braswell is charged with first degree murder, firearms charges and tampering with evidence in connection with the April 12 shooting of 19-year-old Dazhmier Brooks.
Brooks was shot less than a mile from Legislative Hall, in the 400 block of Sussex Ave., around 9:15 p.m. He was found wounded and unresponsive when police arrived, and later died at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
Braswell was quickly identified as a suspect but was only recently arrested. When U.S. Marshals with the First State Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the United States Marshals Eastern District, took Braswell into custody in Brooklyn, they found a 9mm handgun on him, police said.
