No closer to denuclearizeish and today than was several years ago. They continue to develop nuclear and Cyber Capabilities at an alarming rate. Most troubling is the continued development of the medium and long range missile capability. It may be unreliable today but they could oppose a threat to guam, alaska, or even the west coast of the United States and some believe they have aspirations to build submarines that could carry these missiles even closer to the United States. They appear to be working toward a miniature warhead that can be mounted on missiles. The commander of us forces in north korea at this moment they may possess the ability to miniaturize a nuclear warhead. It is it is clear there aspirations do not stop with convention conventional Nuclear Weapons. They are quietly developing a defensive cyber capability. I was was deeply disturbed by the cyber attack on sony that took place. Agents agents working for the north korean regime than the lies and coworkers to company
That should be a principle of you and the principle that the Prime Minister reiterated in Prime Ministers questions today. I would have hoped that would have been a principle that could have been held by everybody across all parties in this house of commons. Certainly as far as im concerned, as far as the conservative party is concerned our manifesto would make it clear well introduce legislation needed to restore our declining Communications Capability and well use all the legal powers available to us to make sure where appropriate the police and security and intelligence agencies have the maximum ability to intercept the communications of suspects while insuring that such intrusive techniques are of course properly overseen. The needs of veterans. I asked previous secretary for how can i help. What tools dont you have to solve this problem with no response sn again, if there is changes in the law and programs that are necessary it encourage loan forgiveness or whatever would help you attract professionals, i would like to be an ally. Heres my scenario of a couple of stories. Lee mann is a veteran. I mentioned him in opening remarks. He had the fortune of the va calling him to tell him he no longer needed to drive four hours to nebraska from kansas to have a colonoscopy. Thats the good news. That suggested that there is change afoot. Thank you. Down the road, about an hour in plainville, kansas, Larry Mcintyre said he drove three hours to wichita to get a cortizone shot in his shoulder. He goes several times a week for other minor procedures. There is a sea bot within 25 miles, but they dont have the capabilities as i understand it of providing cortizone shots. What does exist is a hometown hospital. Rooks
Representatives of disease groups know more about the diseases than anybody else. They have worked so hard to try to understand whats at stake. Pressing the government to be as flexible as possible. I think its important for the infrastructure for the 21st century cures. I want to say i would be a little cautious about thinking we can solve big problems with legislation with all the unforeseen consequences that can sit inn at a panel here ten years from now and bemoan. I guess thats not a question, but comments. I thank the witnesses and particularly, my good friend and constituent mike milken for all that he has done. Thank you, mr.
