Eastern Cape nurses have once again downed tools, protesting since Monday outside the health department’s offices in Quigney, East London. Though fewer than the nearly 3,000 nurses and nursing assistants who converged on the seaside office in June, many protesters have returned, demanding payment of rural allowances.
