The Georgian Government on Saturday said it joined the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the event marked worldwide since 1991 to raise awareness over the problem.
Forty-two years after the adoption of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women by the UN General Assembly, and 14 years since the Domestic Violence Act (Act 732) was passed by Ghana’s Parliament, GBV continues unabated and many women, girls, men and boys continually suffer.
