YPSILANTI, MI Thousands of KN95 face masks are being given away at a retirement community in Ypsilanti.
The free KN95 respirator masks, which are made from multiple layers of filters, are still available to the public at Huron Valley PACE, 2940 Ellsworth Road in Ypsilanti.
Huron Valley PACE received approximately 5,000 KN95 and children’s face masks in January through the state as a result of federal funding, and still has roughly 2,000 masks remaining, marketing director Lindsay Mann-Shanahan said.
“It’s really easy to drive up and grab them,” Mann-Shanahan said. “You can just come through our circular driveway and we’ll be there to hand them out using our face shields and gloves. We do everything we can for the community, so, it’s wonderful to be able to give these away.”
