Three University of Kentucky advisors have been named recipients of awards from NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, an organization that promotes and supports quality academic advising in institutions of higher education to enhance the educational development of students.
The University of Kentucky Advising Network is now accepting nominations for the Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Award. This award recognizes outstanding service in the field of undergraduate academic advising for both faculty and professional advisors.
The University of Kentucky Advising Network hosted the Ken Freedman Day of Recognition with a luncheon honoring advisors for their work during the previous academic semester.
Jennifer Riggs Doerge, senior director of Advising and Engineering Student Services in the College of Engineering, was awarded the Outstanding Professional Advisor Award. Heather Hardesty, academic advisor for undergraduate students within the College of Health Sciences, was awarded the Outstanding New Advisor Award.
