SALISBURY, MD.- Back to school is right around the corner and one thing on the to-do list for parents is to get their kids a fresh haircut, and one organization is lending a helping hand.
Shore United Barbershop and Community Center will be hosting a free back to school haircut drive.
The organization will pay for 50 kids cuts who have at least a 2.5 GPA or higher.
They’ve been doing back to school drives for years, giving way supplies and clothing.
Founders say that parents are juggling a lot and this was a way to relieve a little of that stress while also emphasizing the importance of education. “After you’ve dropped a lot of money on uniforms and sneakers or something like that, it may not seem like a lot but that 30 or 40 dollar haircut may be gas for the week to get you through to your paycheck. So we just wanted to do our part in the community,” said Co-Founder TJ Bryant.
