Most destructive fire appears to be the one burning on the western side, wiping out the town of lahaina. At least six people are dead and emergency officials expect that number to go up. Hawaiis number hawaiis governor did declare a state of emergency and is returning to the islands tonight to address the crisis. People are being told not to fly to maui unless they absolutely have to. The faa is keeping an eye on the smoke because it could alter flight patterns, and we are hearing of some people running to the beach in order to escape the flames.
