Couple charged with breaching protocols

A husband and wife were hauled before the law court today on a breach of one of the COVID-19 protocols.
The COVID-19 Monitoring Unit has alleged that Jasmattie and Stephen Grant, of Crawford Land, Black Rock, St Michael being the owners of Sawyers Variety failed to keep the establishment closed as mandated by
Paragraph (3) subparagraph (1) of the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No.3) Directive.
They plead not guilty to the February 6 charge when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes today in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
Their attorney Mohia Ma’at informed the court that due to the architectural design of his clients’ house they had no choice but to open the door to the shop which is located at the front of the dwelling.
