Costa Rican unions to define actions on IMF agreement
San Jose, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the Costa Rican Social and Union Unitary Bloc (BUSSCO) will define on Thursday the joint actions on government s agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Public Employment bill. Being held at the International Conference Center of the National Educators Association, the meeting will be attended by social, union, popular and women s bodies as well as federations of students, university rectors, farmers and transporters, among others.
In September-October 2020, members of the National Rescue Movement led demonstrations across the country to force the government to withdraw a first negotiation proposal of US$ 1.75 billion loan from IMF.
