Woman, 19, shot to death in Union Township Updated Mar 07, 2021; A 19-year-old woman was found shot to death in Union Township Sunday morning. Township police were responding to a home on the 2100 block of Melrose Parkway when they found a young woman who had been shot and was unresponsive, according to a press release from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and local police. The woman, identified as Malikah Taylor of Newark, was rushed to University Hospital in Newark but was pronounced dead there just before 8 a.m., authorities said. The investigation into who shot Taylor is ongoing, and police did not release any information about a possible motive. The Union County Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation with assistance from members of the Union Police Department, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, the press release said.
