Investigation into this shooting at 4 00. Sargent scott l ghurkser is described as a hardwork, dedicated, wellrespected and wellloved member of the community and Police Department. The sergeant and his partner tried to pull over the driver of a white pickup truck for driving erratically. Sergeant lunger later died at the hospital. We can see that there is nothing routine about what our officers do. Reporter after the sacramento sergeant was shot, his partner returned fire. The drive of that pickup truck sped off. The bulletriddled vehicle was found dumped at another location in oakland. The investigation led police to another site. Police said earlier this morning they have a person of interest at a secure location. We asked if that meant the suspect was shot and injured. They did not con fir that.
