Calls for Grimsby Uniform Direct to be allowed to open to meet huge demand for schoolwear
Schools open on Monday - but uniform shops are classed as non-essential
Parents are scrambling to get new uniforms ready for schools to reopen on Monday.
Lockdown growth-spurts has led to many families needing to buy new schoolwear and shoes, but uniform shops remain closed as they are classed as non-essential.
One supplier told Grimsby Live they have had a dramatic increase in demand but frustratingly can not open to help customers prepare for the return to school.
And online purchases can take weeks to source and deliver because shops have been ordered to remain closed.
