THE owner of some vacant land, off Jalan Nosoob Hungab, has been compounded RM3,000 for defying the Penampang District Council’s instructions to stop putting up a “kongsi (workers’ quarters)” despite knowing full well that the structure is illegal.
The District Council is weighing up the possibility of carrying out ground improvement in Taman Putra Pogun to mitigate the damage to the pavements and other public amenities in this Penampang neighbourhood.
THE District Council is cracking down on a “kongsi (workers’ quarters)” which is being built in one part of Penampang, while City Hall is checking on whether a tent, seen on some reserve land in Dah Yeh Villa, is being used for a similar purpose.
A spokesman for the former agency said the owner of some vacant land, off Jalan Nosoob Hungab, was instructed to stop all construction with immediate effect on Monday.
