Solar farms facing new regulations in Tippecanoe County

Solar farms facing new regulations in Tippecanoe County The requirements come as solar energy becomes more popular. Posted: Feb 1, 2021 2:59 PM Posted By: Joseph Paul TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)   Companies building solar farms must adhere to new regulations. The regulations, although impacting residential and community-scale solar applications, will mostly affect the construction of large-scale solar farms, says Sallie Fahey, executive director of the Tippecanoe County Area Plan Commission.  Under the new requirements, solar farms must be set back at least 50 feet from property lines and pollinator-friendly and native plants must be planted around and under the solar panels. Fahey says the APC spent months developing the regulations, which, she says, are needed as solar energy becomes more popular.
