The town of Unicoi Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to begin the process of improving the condition of Massachusetts Avenue during their meeting on Monday.
The Unicoi Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve an amendment to the 2023-24 fiscal year budget.
The budget amendment included the addition of a $249,100 HOME Program grant which will assist low-income individuals in making necessary repairs to their homes. The amendment also included the addition of a Safety Partners grant in the amount of $800 to purchase a bulletproof vest for the Unicoi Police Department. The town will provide a 50% match for that grant.
