matt finn is live in shelby park, the battleground between president biden and texas governor greg abbott. our cameras have been inside the park for years now, the viewers may recognize this area where there are countless number of illegal mass crossing right here at the rio grande river. as it stands this afternoon, texas has seized control of the park and is banning federal agents. in december there was a huge surge of illegal migrants here in shelby park. texas governor abbott argues president biden s border policies have allowed the cartels unfetterred access to smuggle migrants into the park and the area so texas has kicked out border patrol agents arguing in part that the state of texas will do a better job deterring migrants. now the department of justice and the state of texas are battling for control of this property along the river before the supreme court. the biden administration has warned the state of texas it must stop blocking federal agents immediately.
than two years, we ve been complaining about the fact that the u.s. congress has held thousands, tens of thousands of hours of closed circuit camera footage from the public. they have not released any of it from january 6. january 6 is a transformative event in this country. it been used to change the country. so there s about 44,000 hours, and we have, you may have read, been granted access to that. we believe that access is unfetterred. we believe we have secured the right to see whatever we want to see. we ve been there about a week. our producers, our smartest producers have been there looking at this stuff and see what it means and how it contradicts the story that we ve been told for two years. we think in some ways it does contradict that story. we re going to spend the rest of the week taking a look at it and assessing it and bring you what we find next week.

the way that the texas voting law is? if they would eliminate giving unfetterred control of poll watchers. i ve been in a polling place where they have walked behind me and tried to make me fearful and afraid. they didn t know who i was. i demanded they get away from me, and they did. the new law empowers partisan poll watchers to have, quote, free movement around voting facilities except to watch the ballot cast. election officials, who reject poll watchers, can be charged with a misdemeanor crime. poll watchers have been in these precincts for decades. james white is the only black republican in the texas legislature and supported the new voting law. poll watchers are already there. they have a lot more leeway now. poll watchers are already there. is it fair they have more leeway? do you agree with that? no, i don t. you can look voters in texas,
