And the United States senate and perhaps the most acute is the role of policy preferences. It is the job of the senate to pursue her policy preferences. In fact it would be a dereliction of duty for her to put policy goals aside. By contrast it is the job of a judge to resist her policy preferences. It would be a dereliction of duty for her to give into them. Federal judges dont stand for election, but have no basis for claiming that their preferences reflect those of the people. This separation of duty from political preference is what makes the judiciary distinct among the 3 branches of government. A judge declares independence not only from congress and the president but also from the private beliefs that might otherwise move her, it captures the essence of the judicial duty, rule of law must always control. President trump announced your nomination, he tweeted obamacare will be replaced with a much better and far cheaper alternative. In reality, there is no alternative that protects the millions of americans who depend on the Affordable Care act every day. The truth is President Trump and the republicans in congress are fighting to take Health Care Away from the American People in the middle of a pandemic. President trump has said he wants to protect the American Peoples health care. The reality is right now hes asking the Supreme Court to take it away. Into the weekend. Gusty offshore winds will be back by sunday. In fact, we just got word that regional parks in east bay hills will close on sunday due to dangerous fire weather conditions. Likely some of the strongest offshore winds we have seen so far. Fire season a big concern we are watching this closely. A fire weather watch in effect from 11 am sunday through 11 am tuesday for the areas in yellow. East bay hills, diablo range and Santa Cruz Mountains are all under a fire weather watch which will be upgraded into a red flag warning. We are talking gust 60, 70 Miles Per Hour especially in the Higher Elevations with humidity values down to the Single Digits and the teens. We also have a high wind watch sunday 4 pm until monday at 10 am for the entire bay area because of the strong winds, possible downed trees and power lines.
