Anyone who has ever walked along Streedagh Beach in Sligo would be familiar with the Butter Boat , the skeletal remains of a shipwreck that have puzzled residents and visitors for years.
While it was initially assumed that it was part of the Spanish Armada wrecks which populate the area, a massive analysis by the National Monuments Service has uncovered the tragic story of the boat, known as The Greyhound .

Dermot and Dave, Karl Brady from the Underwater Archaeology Unit at the National Monuments Service, explained how they solved a 250 year mystery.
