The Fort Dodge Community School District Board of Education and staff are striving to wrap up the proposed budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
In February, District Director of Financial Services Brandon Hansel, presented the board with the initial budget proposal, which included a decreased property tax levy rate of $16.21, which was a 29-cent decrease from the previous year.
“That’s great news, certainly welcome news to us as a school district, any time we can provide relief to our faithful taxpayers,” Hansel said.
As the budget continues to be ironed out, the proposed levy rate has gone down another cent.
