really much doubt about that. one other point i would make, i know before we got this document that you were talking a lot, shep, about campaign finance and the whole question of cohen and how much they know. one of the most undercovered statements is from jerry nadler who said on sunday illegal campaign contributions are clearly an impeachable offense. the question as to whether or not they re important enough to impeach a president about is a different matter. that really gets to the nub of it, which is you could argue that breaking the law is breaking the law but do the democrats want to overturn the duly elected election of donald trump over a campaign finance violation which is arguable. you can get good lawyers that say it wasn t a campaign finance
office on. i ve always thought this was the most undercovered element and least understood element of the whole trump russia scandal. now it s hitting like a bombshell and it shows trump lied about his connections to russia and he was conning the voting public while he was running for president. it wasn t just on joe. i think it was on super bowl sunday where trump was griffin t given the opportunity. vladmir putin isn t just the leader of another country. obama administration sanctioned russia and it crippled their economy. if president trump were to win, lift those sanctions, it would be a game changer for russia. president trump could help vladmir putin in such a significant way while president trump, whose priority has been his business, was trying to win

their lives after him. but we got gorsuch. that s what we heard for the first year. and then the second year, just became too much and suddenly yes, we got gorsuch who is no longer enough. but here we are again, with another supreme court battle and once again the conservative base is engaged just like a lot of people are engaged on the left because these supreme court battles in our tribal political culture are pretty much the bloodiest form of political warfare and it s been that way since at least 1987 and robert bork. yeah. now it s on steroids, joe, given mr. trump s behavior. shannon mentioned something that s both really interesting and in my view has been kind of undercovered. and it is mr. trump s design, by design, going after the
undercovered aspect of this midterm season is the fact that many of the republicans who are willing to criticize the president or who consider themselves to be more moderate or opponents of the president aren t going to be in washington come january, either because they re swept out of office in this wave or because they, like you, like charlie dent, your colleague, choose not to stick around either because you thought you couldn t win or because the environment is so tox toxic. what is the republican party going to look like regardless of whether the majority is there. it s going to hand more power to the right wing in the house conference. well, my feeling kasie is that as a party, we are going to have to be much more forceful in what our policy prerogatives are because as the party continues to be more and more defined by trump, especially when he wades into primaries and the trump-backed candidate wins, that is not a recipe for
