screws that were criticdrilled n the wires were drilled around the screws. in the middle of where the clothes pin would close, the sla had put a wooden shim in that space to block the circuit. attached to that shim was a magnet that was placed to the undercarriage of the car. once that shim was pulled out, the two screws would make contact with each other and that would allow the circuit to be complete and the bomb would go off. the officers pulled out at an angle. that caused the trigger mechanism to tweak just enough so that the trigger points didn t match. and by a miracle, the bomb didn t go off. after the police discovered the first bomb, they called basically every officer that was on the street and had them go look under their cars. there was another bomb that was found at holland mic station. when he went back too his car,

learn more, kate. absolutely. thanks so much. stay on the phone, bring me anything you ve got. you re our eyes and ears on the ground. joining me with shimon prokupecz in studio is josh campbell. we have been watching this this morning. your perspective on what we re seeing play out in plantation. the van towed away, the tarp put over the top. this is fascinating. we have been sitting here discussing, obviously, as the development have unfolded. there s something making law enforcement officers place a tarp over the van. we believe it might be the suspect s van. this is not normal when you re moving evidence. if you think about, we have seen vehicles on tow trucks before being moved from crime scenes. some cases i worked, we would package up a vehicle if there was a question of whether evidence might come out of it or as you re moving it from crime scene to the police station, but the undercarriage of this vehicle is not being covered. there s something that at least in my judgment
they will look at the undercarriage, they will look to make sure as they move that vehicle, they don t touch even the outer parts of that vehicle. there may be finger prints on the doors come on the hoods, on the trunk. they are just being very, very careful. melissa: do they already know there are no expose the devices this point? they wouldn t have i m sure they had dogs, they had some forensic teams going there to make sure there were no expose the devices. to be when they couldn t even keep the tarp on. i think if they thought there was some device under there, that would be melissa: can ask another detail that we heard early today? they were talking about the print on the notes that were on the outside of the packages, the blocked printing, saying that within that block printing there are actually numbers that are hidden in there? that specific kind of print? so they could do tracing back to what type of printer and what printer it was? do you know about that? i do k
something that would have been easily identifiable, and now we re learning that that authorities not only knew of him, but they knew of him making bomb threats back in 2002. so you talk about forensic evidence than there was also just historical evidence. before i go back to you, just want everyone to know you are looking at a scene on the left side of your screen of his van, we think it s a suspect s van, what we ve been told to the fbi headquarters. this is video from earlier. they got to see is what they were not anticipating. most important pictures that they were taking and undercarriage of the van in doing so much of the daylight. they ve been off-loaded this abandoned able to watch this live and if we have those pictures, we can show you those. that very sterile environment where they would take a look at it in a big garage in miramar florida. we were guessing based on what we could see and we had an
