before the primetime debate they were already planning. they said that 5:00 p.m. debate would be especially for all the candidates who wouldn t make the cut of the top ten on the main stage later that night. quote, due to the overwhelming interest in the fox news debate and in a concerted effort to include and accommodate the now 16 republican candidate field, the largest in modern political history, fox news is expanding participation in the 5:00 p.m. debate to all declared candidates. and that announcement from fox after all that pressure they got about them putting their thumb on the scale and picking the number of candidates who would be there, that is how we got the undercard debates. remember them? ultimately they became widely known as the kids table debates. that s how we got the spectacle two days before the first debate of this sort of bachelor would you accept this rose ceremony when they announced who made the cut of the top ten for the adult debate. but then that was there

up being worth 900 points and 800 more for making it to the four sanctioned gop debates, although they were each undercard debates. some of our candidates have drafted five candidates. the current standings, michael steele leads with 4,500 points, followed closely by jess mcintosh, and joy reed and sam seder, and josh barrow with 2200 points. joining me now, josh barrow, who somehow managed to draft three people who never got in the race, now hanging his hopes on ted cruz and carly fiorina. also joining me, msnbc national correspondent joy reid. three of joy s accompanicandida just dropped off leaving her with chris christie and mike huckabee, still in it. we were going back and looking at it s kind of funny. this gives you a sense of just how surprising things have been this year. donald trump did play a role in our draft as one of the whammy
he joins me as he does every monday. i guess people won t be that surprised with lindsey graham dropping out. he was not polling high at all, and he had been in the undercard debates, right? right. he had been in the undercard debates. but he was hilarious and awesome and great in the undercard debates because he did not care. he was not afraid to say stuff. he was not afraid to throw it out there. and was absolutely entertaining and absolutely good. so the nation mourns the loss of undercard debate lindsey graham. but, yes, you re quite right, that for a long time probably even really from the beginning graham was not going to be the guy. the only thing that this changes two things. one thing it changes is, in south carolina where he s from, his endorsement, his presence could be useful. then we care a lot about new hampshire, where his colleague, his cam padre, senator kelly
will suspend his 2016 presidential bid. he struggled to gain extraction since starting his campaign despite being widely seen as several of the undercard debates. he ran for one reason in particular and that s the fight as he sees it against radical islam. it s been his strong conviction throughout the course of this campaign and that was the main reason he wanted to be on that stage so somebody could say the thing he was saying. bill: he says i m us spending my campaign but never my commitment to stuart through strength. i remember the first debate he did in cleveland in early august. he had one of the most memorable lives. he says they talk about a war on women.
