Cele sends top team to end Eastern Cape taxi killings

Police minister Bheki Cele has appointed two high-ranking officials to form a team to investigate taxi violence in Port St Johns amid allegations that government officials and police were themselves involved in the taxi industry, while Eastern Cape premier Oscar Mabuyane has appealed to the president to deploy the military.

Taxi associations fined after Port St Johns violence and blockades

Taxi associations associated with violence and blockades on the R61 between Port St Johns and Lusikisiki have each been fined R700,000, and must cough up R200,000 within five days. The remaining R500,000 is suspended.

Warring taxi groups seeking end to bloodshed

The leaders of the two feuding taxi associations in the Port St Johns area are seeking to end a bloodbath which erupted two weeks ago. A deadly encounter saw six people shot dead and others, including a child, wounded. Six vehicles were torched.

Great Lakes to accept NMAT Scores for the One Year MBA Program

PNN Chennai (Tamil Nadu)/ Gurgaon (Haryana) [India], November 11: Great Lakes Institute of Management, one of the premier B-schools of the country with campuses in Chennai and Gurgaon has announced admissions open for its full-time one year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) for academic session 2024-25. The institute has also announced that it will be accepting NMAT scores (2022 onward) for the PGPM, in addition to CAT 2022/23, XAT 2023/24 and GMAT taken post 1st Jan 2021. The PGDM will continue to accept CAT, XAT and GMAT tests. The PGPM requires candidates to have at least 2 years of experience while the PGDM accepts students with 0-3 years of experience.
