A Nevada man was convicted last Thursday of killing his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child on the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation. Michael Burciaga, 36, was found guilty of first-degree murder of the woman within Indian Country, which is a violation of the Protection of Unborn Children Act, and domestic assault by a habitual offender within Indian Country, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.
