Zameka Mfubesi The bereaved relatives of a principal of a Grabouw school who was shot and killed last September took to the town’s streets once again calling for justice for her murder. The 46-year-old principal of Umyezo Wama Apile High School was apparently on her way home from work when she was shot and killed on Friday 18 September (“Senseless’ killing shocks community”, DistrictMail, 24 September). Several shots were fired at her vehicle near the Blikkiesdorp informal settlement outside Grabouw. Police said at around 14:00 multiple shots were fired at Mfubesi’s silver Toyota Rav 4 when it stopped at the Eskom crossing (on the corner of Ou Kaapse Weg and the N2) before turning right onto the highway, fatally wounding her. She died on the scene.
