Burkina Faso Attack: Provisional Death Toll at 100

While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the blame is increasingly being put on fighters.
Attacks are reportedly on the rise in Burkina Faso. According to the BBC, 30 people died in an attack in the east of Burkina Faso last month. Last night’s attack, however, took place in the north of the country.
Meanwhile, France has been meddling in Africa by ‘supporting’ the militaries of Mali, Chad, Mauritania, Niger as well as Burkina Faso against fighters. Thus far more than 1.14 million people have been displaced in just over two years. Burkina Faso is also host to some 20 000 refugees from neighboring Mali, who had also fled from attacks in that country.
Palestinian Community Centre Staff in US Fearful following Bomb Threat

In New Jersey, in the United States, staff at a Palestinian community center are remaining vigilant following a caller having made over 30 phone calls to the center in 24 hours. The caller threatened to kill and sexually assault the all-female staff.
The caller identified himself as ‘Jebediah Morris’. Members of the Palestinian American Community Centre in Clifton, said that during one of the calls, Morris told the employees that he was located near the centre, and threatened to go over and beat the women.
When he asked several times if the staff were Palestinian, and was questioned about the relevance of that, he said, “So I know to come blow you up.” He accused PACC of being a terrorist organization, claiming that this information had come from the Israeli government and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Denmark Passes Law to Send its Asylum Seekers out of Europe

Euro News reports that under a new law in Denmark asylum seekers will be sent to countries outside of Europe to have their cases placed under consideration.
The legislation, approved on Thursday, is the latest in a raft of anti-migration measures passed by the Danish parliament. Euro News reports that its aimed at discouraging migrants from ever setting foot in Denmark.
Charlotte Slente, secretary-general of the Danish Refugee Council, said in response to the law, “The idea to externalize the responsibility of processing asylum seekers’ asylum claims is both irresponsible and lacking in solidarity.” She added that the Australian model or the so-called ‘hotspots’ on the Greek islands, have resulted in incidents of detention, physical assault, prolonged asylum proceedings, and no access to health care or legal assistance.
