Longstanding owners of a newsagents in Roehampton were met with cheers from customers when they closed-up shop for the final time. Married couple, Hari and Marie Thakrar, were given a send-off by grateful neighbours on Wednesday (Feb 10), who gathered on the street to say goodbye after 33 years. The Thakrar’s have run Roehampton High Street Post office since 1986 but decided recently it was time to wind down. On their last shift, members from the Roehampton Quadrant Residents Association – which consist of Rodway Road, Nepean Street, Akehurst Street and Umbria Street – showed their support from a social distance.
