On Tuesday night, a property dubbed the Mars House sold for roughly $515, 460. This futuristic minimalist abode, designed by Toronto-based artist Krista Kim, features gorgeous views, glossy see-through furniture, and lots and lots of fiery orange tones. However, what really makes the home stand out is its location. No, it s not physically located on Mars, but it can only be found on a 3D file.
The Mars House is the first NFT (non-fungible token) digital home to exist (or rather to not exist?) in the world. The crypto art home was thoughtfully designed to create a zen and therapeutic atmosphere. Kim even tapped The Smashing Pumpkins s Jeff Schroeder to produce a special background track to further enhance the home s soothing aura.

Last week, one of the buzziest pieces of real estate in the world hit the market. Dubbed “Mars House,” the home is framed entirely in glass reminiscent of Los Angeles’ iconic Stahl House. Soft, neon lights bathe the property in ever-changing color. And outside, it boasts sweeping views of jagged red mountains.
The house went up for sale via auction, and by Monday morning its creator had accepted an offer for just over half a million dollars.
There’s just one catch: The house is completely virtual. The happy new owner can never actually go inside.
Mars House, and its sale, are buzzy not just because it’s a pretty piece of design, but also because it represents what appears to be the very first “NFT house.”
