南投縣陳姓男子去年夥同未成年的陳姓侄子，異想天開想靠搶劫發大財，他們認為珠寶行、超商錢最多，跑到南投市多家珠寶行與超商勘查時，卻發現人來人往難以下手，怪異的是，兩人最後選擇的強盜對象，竟是南投縣警察局斜對面的檳榔攤，搶得現金6000元與香菸4包，當天就被警方抓到，法院審理時，他把責任推給侄子，宣稱他只有把風，但辯詞卻與監視器畫面等證據不符，法官全不採信，依加重強盜等罪名判刑8年，可上訴。判決書指出，國中肄業從事鍛造作業員的陳男，去年與侄子陳姓少年（由南投地院少年法庭審理）想「發大財」，叔侄先準備西瓜刀、安全帽等犯罪工具，他們認為珠寶行（銀樓）、超商或提款機的錢最多，不過，兩人跑了南投市多家的珠寶行與超商、提款機，實地勘查發現這些地點人很多，很難下手行搶。
