Sensex Up Over 400 Points; Nifty Gains 120 Points
BRUSSELS/FRANKFURT/PARIS (dpa-AFX) - Indian shares rose notably on Friday, mirroring firm cues from global markets after U.S. President Joe Biden signed his $1.9 trillion stimulus bill into law.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex climbed 415 points, or 0.8 percent, to 51,694 in early trade, while the broader NSE Nifty index was up 120 points, or 0.8 percent, at 15,294.
Tata Steel, IOC, Larsen & Toubro, BPCL and JSW Steel rallied 2-3 percent while Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, Bajaj Auto and SBI Life dropped 1-2 percent.
Tata Motors rose half a percent after unveiling the Ultra Sleek T-Series range of intermediate and light commercial trucks.

March 11, 2021 Tata Motors on Thursday unveiled three models – T.6, T.7 and T.9 - in its newest range of intermediate and light commercial trucks (I&LCV), the Ultra Sleek T-Series, at a starting price of ₹13,99,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
While the Ultra Sleek T.6 is available at ₹13,99,000, the Ultra Sleek T.7 is priced at ₹15,29,000, and the Ultra Sleek T. 9 at ₹17,29,000. This series was designed and engineered to suit contemporary urban transportation demands, the company said in a statement.

Auto major Tata Motors expects the commercial vehicles industry to grow over 30 per cent in the next fiscal on the back of cyclical demand uptick and overall recovery of economic activity, according to a top company official.
The company, which on Thursday launched its latest range of intermediate and light commercial trucks (I&LCV) - the Ultra Sleek T-Series with price starting from Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), is also seeking to cash in on the return of demand and enhance its market share in the segment.
