Zoom workshops are replacing foreign trips - which are included in the fees of a number of masters courses, which students say cost over 1,600 euro per person. UL’s PostGraduate Student Union are calling for a refund to be issued to affected students and say the response from the university so far has been wholeheartedly unsatisfactory . The Union issued the following statement:Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many postgraduate students were not able to reap the full benefits of their courses. The restrictions of the pandemic rendered many of the programmes that included an international workshop unfulfilled. Costs of such programmes were estimated at 15,000 Euros for Non-EU students and

Students demand refund from University of Limerick over cancelled international workshop Reporter: david.hurle@limerickleader.ie UL is being urged to refund postgraduate students who were unable to travel for an international workshop ); ); THE University of Limerick is being urged to reimburse postgraduate students who were unable to attend an international workshop last year because of Covid-19. The UL Postgraduate Student s Union says it has been lobbying UL for eight months but that it has refused to refund the monies - believed to be in the region of €1,500 for each student. A number of postgraduate students have contacted the Limerick Leader in recent days and the ULPSU says it has decided to highlight the matter publicly because of the impasse.
