A growing number of schools are axing DEI, but the University of Iowa became the latest to restructure its office while attempting to preserve the ideology.
The university has agreed to merge its 51-year-old Rape Victim Advocacy Program with the Iowa City-based Domestic Violence Intervention Program, which started after the UI’s Women’s Resource and Action Center in 1977 landed a grant to explore the issue of domestic violence in the community.
The University of Iowa will keep housing students in its 56-year-old Mayflower Residence Hall at least for one more year despite having announced a year ago plans to sell the “last-chosen and first-transferred-from residence hall.”
