Leadership crisis rocking the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa State worsened on Saturday as a former member of the House of Representatives, Dr Joseph Haruna Kigbu, led other 10,000 members of the opposition party to defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Dr Kigbu who represented Lafia/Obi federal constituency at the House of Representatives from 2011-2015 on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) before dumping the party for the PDP due to irreconcilable differences said their defection was to add value to what the current Governor Abdullahi Sule is doing,

Sen. Godiya Akwashiki (APC-Nasarawa North) on Saturday disbursed the sum of N30 million to 3,000 widows, orphans and the less privileged in his senatorial district.
Akwashiki while disbursing the money to his constituents in Nassarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba Local Government Areas, said each of the beneficiaries would get N10,000 cash to enable them to feed with their families during the Christmas and New year celebrations.
The lawmaker, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Employment, Labour and Productivity, said the gesture was part of his commitment to positively change the lives of widows, orphans and vulnerable in his constituency.
