Noakhali clash: Murder case filed against Quader Mirza, 163 others
A murder case has been filed against 164 people, including Bashuerhat Municipality Mayor Quader Mirza, over death of a man in a deadly clash among the ruling party men in Noakhali’s Companiganj.
Emdad Hossain alias Raju, younger brother of victim Alauddin, filed the case on Sunday.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate SM Mosleh Uddin Mijan took the case into congisanse.
The clash between supporters of Quader Mirza, who is also the younger brother of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, and Companiganj upazila Awami League unit men left one person dead and more than 30 others injured – many with gunshot wounds.

Belal Hossain (30) was arrested by the PBI from Basurhat Bazar, ward 1 of Charfakira union parishad of the Companiganj Upazila (Sub District) in Noakhali District at around 1pm on March 7.

A Noakhali court this afternoon placed Belal Hosen, arrested in the case filed for the death of Journalist Borhan Uddin Muzakkir, on a three-day remand.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate SM Mosleh Uddin Mijan passed the order after PBI Inspector Mostafijur Rahman, also the investigative officer of the case, presented Belal with a five-day remand prayer, reports our local correspondent quoting the IO.
Belal Hosen will be questioned at the office of Police Bureau of Investigation, the police official also said.
