COVID-19 Highlights May 11: Maharashtra reports 40,956 new cases, 793 deaths

Mumbai:
Maharashtra on Tuesday (May 11) reported 40,956 new cases of coronavirus, and with that, the total caseload climbed to 51,79,929.
As many as 793 patients succumbed to the virus in the state, which took the death toll to 77,191.
Also, the total recoveries in the state surged to 45,41,391 with 71,966 discharges in the last 24 hours.
At present, there are 5,58,996 active cases in Maharashtra.
Mumbai reports less than 2000 cases
Mumbaikars heaved a sigh of relief on Tuesday as the city reported 1,717 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. This is the second day in a row that the metropolis has recorded less than 2000 COVID-19 cases. The overall caseload of Mumbai now stands at 6,79,986. The city also saw a considerable drop in the number of fatalities as 51 patients succumbed to the virus on Tuesday. With that, the death toll has climbed to 1
